Snuggle up with some of these wines and spirits for Valentine’s Day. Whether it be some sparkling wine for marking that special occasion with your sweety or going solo on a warm winter night with a whisky, there is a little something for everyone’s tastes below.
Freixenet Sparkling Rosé
Glittering with blushing pink hues, this delicious sparkling rose is produced from a blend of Glera and Pinot Noir grapes from the Veneto region in Italy. Light and effervescent, with notes of red berries, white flowers and apple. A perfect way to start any evening or brunch.
Trapiche Rosé
This Mendoza winery has a long running track record of producing fantastic wines. Comprised of a blend of 65% Malbec and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, this Rosé offers a melody of red and black berries with a slight peppery spice. Seared Ahi or lighter meats would pair nicely.
Nichol Pinot Gris
Benchmark Pinot Gris from this Naramata winery that uses skin contact to give the wine a pretty salmon hue while adding depth to the body. The juicy acidity brings the fresh flavours of apricot, tangerine and grapefruit together nicely. A great compliment for salads and seafood dishes.
Jaboulet Côtes du Rhone
Deep red cherry and spiced berry notes on the nose. Soft tannins subtly coat the mouth following through with spice and jammy black fruits on the palate. An all around tasty rich red to warm you on any occasion.
Romeo’s Pink X Gin
Watermelon distillate is added to a complex array of botanicals including juniper, lavender and dill with tones of cucumber making for a refreshingly fruity pink gin.
Try a XOXO for Valentine’s Day, add lemon juice, raspberry jam, fresh raspberries, a dash of bitters and shake. Absolutely delicious!
