Showing Gratitude One Bottle at a Time

How are you doing with isolation mode? With everything going on, it seems a bit like we're scattered all over the place. Physical distancing has made the world feel so much more, well, spread out! We've been lucky enough to have guests who continue to support us, and it's an inspiring reminder that though the world is feeling a bit disconnected, we're still in the business of personal interactions.

Now more than ever, we want to pass the positivity forward to those doing everything they can to look out for others: the nurses, frontline workers, bus drivers, sanitation workers, grocery staff, teachers, farmers, and public safety workers, among many, many more. As a liquor store, we turned to our friends at Okanagan Crush Pad in Summerland to help us best express our thanks, and pass it on to those who need it most. The result? Gratitude by JAK’s.

Gratitude is a limited release consisting of three exemplary Okanagan wines: a 2018 Red, a 2019 Rose, and a 2019 Pinot Blanc. Each bottle is a thank you note, something that will not only ease the stress after a marathon shift but also give directly to the bottom line. So, for every bottle of Gratitude sold in May, we're donating $1 to local food banks in JAK’s communities. This means when you buy a bottle as a kind gesture for someone that needs it (including yourself!), you're making a gesture two-fold.

  • Red 2018
A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. Dark berry flavours with mocha, chocolate notes.

  • Rosé 2019
Predominately Pinot Noir and Gamay with a hint of Muscat. Think strawberries, creamsicles, mandarin oranges, and grapefruit.

  • Pinot Blanc 2019
A tangerine dream of bright tropical fruits with pineapple and zesty lime.

Every day we're more grateful to be deemed an essential service through this uncertain time. We're happy we can channel that gratitude towards the people that sometimes don't see it enough. Cheers to you, front line workers!
