This spring, we decided to have a friendly competition amongst our staff to see who could create the best cherry blossom-inspired cocktail. Mackenzie Wejr of JAK’s Coquitlam Central rose to the occasion with this pretty-in-pink beverage. Here is how to make Mackenzie’s Blossom Bliss Cocktail.
Ingredients:
2oz Sheringhams Kazuki Gin
1/2 oz Honey Simple Syrup
3/4oz Fresh Lemon Juice
1 Egg White
Top with Bliss Sparkling Cherry Wine - Meadow Vista
Method:
1. Dry shake all ingredients, minus cherry wine, in a cocktail shaker for 15 seconds, allowing the egg white to combine with ingredients
2. Add ice to the shaker and shake until chilled
3. Strain mixture into a chilled coupe glass and top with Sparkling Cherry Wine
From the mixologist: By using Sherighams Kazuki Gin, I was able to create a balance between its robust Cherry Blossom notes, the sweetness of the honey simple syrup, and the tanginess of fresh lemon juice. The Blossom Bliss is sure to please the palette of both gin-lovers and gin-beginners.
